How our story began

Claire knew from early on that a career in the beauty industry was her calling. As a native to Tupelo, there will always be a special place in her heart for the community. Her two beautiful children, Emory and Evan are the greatest blessings in her life. Claire has been working in the salon industry for almost 20 years specializing in hair color, hair cuts and extensions. Claire always brings the highest standards of excellence and creativity with her to every client. As a licensed Cosmetologist for the past 15 years, she continues to enlighten her clients with her knowledge to create exactly what they envision from the moment they sit down in the chair.

Claire's dream to own and operate her own salon has now come to life and she is excited to open Enlighten Salon and Spa. The salon is a place where clients can come and truly relax while they are pampered in a fun, friendly and uplifting environment. Claire's dream is to provide a place of escape for her clients from the stress and demands of today's busy world. The vision of her salon is to enlighten the world with your beauty.

Our mission at Enlighten Salon & Spa is to provide a relaxing and inviting space for women and men to receive personalized salon and spa services. These services can be anything from a haircut to an hour long massage or facial. We have a highly skilled and creative team of licensed professionals.

HAIRSTYLIST

Krissy Howell

Krissy Howell has been specializing in hair color, hair cuts, extensions and makeup for 13 years. Originally from Mantachie and currently living in Tupelo, she is deeply connected to her community. Her care and pursuit for client satisfaction has led her here to Enlighten Salon & Spa, a place where her clients can unwind and enjoy a well deserved "me day". Krissy is passionate about doing hair and makeup for weddings and special events but no matter what the occasion, she finds joy in helping her clients look and feel their best!

With her outgoing personality, Krissy never meets a stranger and her two sons, Presley and Landry make sure she never stops smiling. As Claire's best friend of 13 years, she is excited to set roots at Enlighten and to encourage a positive and relaxing environment for everyone.

COSMETOLOGIST

Lisa Dye

Lisa Dye joins us as a licensed cosmetologist of 27 years. Her passion is to help her clients look their best, from hair coloring, highlighting, and hair cutting to teaching them how to style and care for their hair at home.

Originally from Tupelo, Lisa graduated cosmetology school in Nashville and worked in Franklin for a year and a half before moving back to her hometown. Lisa currently lives in Mooreville and loves spending time with her family - she has two children, Tucker and Kenzie.

MADISON WATTS

With a little over a year doing hair coloring/highlighting, manicures and spray tans, Madison loves meeting new people and being the person her clients can count on. Her passion for the industry started when she was old enough to work in a salon as a receptionist and has been determined and motivated every day to grow her passion at Enlighten Salon & Spa!

OLIVIA AMOS

Olivia Amos is a Hairstylist, Extension Specialist and Makeup Artist. She has 4 years of hands-on experience behind the chair, but started assisting in a salon at the age of 16. Specializing in color corrections, lived-in blonding, and transformative color, she finds joy in not just styling and coloring hair, but also educating clients on hair wellness and self-care and empowering them to confidently manage their hair at home.

Outside the salon, Olivia cherishes spending time with her husband and two cats. Her favorite things to do on her days off are going to church, reading and painting. True crime podcasts and Dateline serve as her guilty pleasures! She loves engaging with her clients in topics from pop culture and binge-worthy TV shows to the occasional conspiracy theory.

Beyond enhancing outer beauty, Olivia's true passion lies in creating genuine connections with her clients, and encouraging them to embrace their inner beauty and confidence.

Gelyn Millen

LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST

SYDNEY HARRIS

Sydney is an Ole Miss alum with a degree in Psychology. She is also a graduate of KC’s Cosmetology School. Sydney specializes in custom color/blonding and cuts. She also specializes in special event makeup for weddings, proms, etc.

MELISSA SCRUGGS

Melissa has been a stylist since 2005. She started her career in Nashville where she had the opportunity to work backstage at the CMA's, Musician Hall of Fame and on set with many amazing artists. As a member of the Aveda Runway Styling Team for two seasons, she worked NY fashion week with some of the Industries leading stylist, learning and honing her skill. She is an advocate for education in this ever changing field.

Her favorite parts of being a stylist are the ability to work in a field she is passionate about and the opportunity to build relationship with her guests. Melissa specializes in custom coloring and cutting.
